I started using a camera and taking pictures when I was 16. I became passionate about capturing the small, subtle, sometimes unnoticed parts of life. The rain drops on leaves after the rain, dew drops on the grass in the morning, the details of ferns, and all of the little things that we don’t often notice unless we are extremely present.

This is what photography became for me, presence. In a busy world where we are often very much in our minds, photography became a tool and an outlet for me to come into the present moment, into stillness. This progressed into taking photos of my friends, playing around with different locations, makeup, outfits, and I became more passionate about capturing the human experience.

Fast forward to now… what I would say I love the most about photography is being able to capture a feeling. When I can take a photo, and then look at it later in life, and it evokes the same feeling that I experienced while taking it. I love being able to capture the love and connection between two people, the playfulness between children and the deep love that parents have for those children. I love that I get to capture a part of your story, and then you get to have that memory to look back on for a lifetime.

Photography is not just a job for me, it’s art, it’s presence, and it’s capturing a feeling in the fleeting moments of life, for you to hold on to forever.
